Dr. Cornwell grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and graduated from Indiana University.
He earned his medical degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.  He completed his Family Practice residency at Fairfax Family Practice, Fairfax, Virginia through the Medical College of Virginia where he received the distinction of Chief Resident. Dr. Cornwell enjoys caring for people of all ages. He has been practicing in Northern Virginia since 1990.
An avid swimmer, he also enjoys skiing and soccer. He resides with his wife and two daughters in Alexandria.  

 Dr. Cornwell specializes in Personalized Preventive Care.  He has limited his practice to 600 patients.  Each patient receives a comprehensive wellness exam focused on prevention and early detection followed by a comprehensive wellness plan tailored to each individual's lifestyle.  Additionally, in his smaller practice setting Dr. Cornwell is able to offer same day or next day appointments that start on time.  Support services are provided by MDVIP, a leader in Personalized Preventive Medicine ( www.mdvip.com).  There is a $1,500.00 annual fee for the annual executive-style physical that is not covered by health insurance but may be reimbursable through a Flexible Spending Account.
